Relay Port Agency was set up way back in 1981 to serve the Port of Hull. Thanks to our exceptional knowledge of the import/export landscape, it didn’t take long for us to expand to the South Bank of the Humber and also service the ports of Immingham and Grimsby, followed by Killingholme as it continued to develop.

From a portacabin to a national port agency

Since those early days we’ve gone from strength to strength, enabling us to become a trusted customs agency for clients around the UK. Though we continue to help businesses in East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire on a daily basis, we now also work with organisations based all around the country. This was made possible by our commitment to developing technology and online systems that facilitate the fast and efficient clearing of goods at the vast majority of UK ports.

Automation is the future!

Over the last 2 years we have developed our own software to streamline the Customs clearance process. Our Semaphore software is capable to receiving your clearance instructions via XML, our prepared spreadsheet or via our Portal.

We realise that errors occur when people are involved! To this end our software can receive instructions directly from your system into ours, keeping manual interventions to a minimum. Having our own in-house software enables us to continually review and improve the offering. We are currently developing our own CDS software and are at the moment testing it via the UK Governments Trader Dress Rehearsal (TDR). The goal is to be performing live entries during August, ready for the migration during September.
